What a busy day!!

So I jumped out of bed at 8am since our little friend Logan would be here to play by 8:30. His Mom has riding lessons in Red Cliff so he comes here to hang out. Before Christine even left the yard my Dad arrived to work on our lawn mower. So the kids helped him fix. Then my crazy friend Con came for a visit (while Dad was still working). By 9:30 the kids were enjoying donuts and hanging out in the back of Grandpa's truck. So once the guys were gone I thought I would be able to get a few things done before we had to be at the school picnic. Then a lady arrived with a huge roaster full of sliced roast beef for the picnic looking for an oven to heat it up in. Once she was gone the phone rang and I talked to my friend for quite awhile.... Then I decided it was time to get myself and 3 kids presentable. Keagan's friend Peter arrived at noon so he could go to the picnic with us. I buckled all four kids into the truck and took off for town, stopped at the bank to deposit money to our hungry account and finally arrived at the school. We enjoyed an awesome lunch and the kids had fun playing on the playground and joining in the water fight, somehow Keagan managed to stay very dry!!! I met with Keagan's teacher to get his final report card and learned that Keagan was second in his class for yearend marks. (pretty proud!!) We finally left the school at 3. I picked up Ricki (3yrs old) at 4:30 since his Mom had to work and rushed home to airbrush Mrs. Pfahl's toes before she leaves for Austrailia. Then my friend Karen came for supper.
It was such a crazy day but the kids had fun and I guess the weeding and housework will have to wait for tomorrow......

Richards Reunion

So all nine of us piled into Mom & Dad's vehicle and took off for the Richards reunion. It was a beautiful day and we all had a great time visiting and playing the relay games. I don't have any pictures of the adult relays but they were pretty funny!
At the campground there was a big pile of dirt that had money hidden in it. This kept the kids very busy digging for money. Once it was found they could go to the little store and buy candy-what could be better than that???

Most of the kids (as you can see Jayda did not enjoy them at all, but some how she still got to enjoy the candy!!) had a blast playing the games, of course there were some yummy candies waiting for them once they were done!!

The pinata was a big high light, more candy!!
When we got home on Sunday night I asked Keagan what his favorite thing was from the whole weekend. He said seeing Uncle Warren's deck!! What a guy, he couldn't wait to check out how much Uncle had gotten built while we were gone Saturday & Sunday!!

Grandpa's new look

I am going to go a little bit out of order with my pictures because I couldn't resist putting these on!! I have some good pictures from the reunion that I will post later.

On the ride home from the Richard's family reunion Keagan & Grandpa had one of these

Jayda should have been napping but decided that she should do this

Looks like she has some good technique!?! Maybe she has seen Mom do a little too much of this...

We did know that he can sleep through anything, but this prooves it!! I guess he should be a little more careful now!! He was awake for a few minutes before he noticed and was rather surprised!! Mom thought it would have been funny if he would have had to wear his sandals today in public!! It kept Jayda pretty entertained and quiet for quite a long time!

Na-Na Grandpa!!

(P.S. I love you Grandpa, Jayda!!)

A visit to Grandma & Grandpa's

We went to the Payne ranch for a fabulous shish-ka-bob supper. The kids had a great time playing and building while we had a nice visit.

Jayda & her favorite Aiden!!

Grandpa, can we use this hammer to build something??? We promise we won't lose it!!!

They built a giant A, I'm sure that Grandma will incorporate that into her garden somewhere!!

Last day of Kindergarten!!

Keagan and Mrs. Amulung. He has learned so much since September!! I just can't believe he is done kindergarten!! My little boy is growing up (sniff, sniff)!! He didn't know how to print before he went and now he can write sentences and is starting to read!!!

Jayda & Jadenn playing with the babies.

Mrs. Amulung, Peter, Keagan, Chayly, Shawn & Maizy (Haile is missing) Ready for Grade One!

Keagan loved the open center time at school, especially the water table!

The new babies!

So these are our new colts. The kids have been pretty excited to have them born so close to home this year (last year they were in Cluny). Two of the three mares have foaled so we are anxiously awaiting for the last to arrive! It will be fun to watch them grow, also all the locals have been enjoying seeing them as they drive the country side!

To the right is the stud horse that kicked Ben in the face! He is actually a really nice horse-gentle as a kitten Ben would say. Apparently just don't get behind him in a trailer when it is breeding season and you should be fine!!
